Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis proclaimed Monday, Feb.
16 as a state holiday to observe Washington’s birthday with most schools and state offices set to close for the three-day weekend. The federal holiday still remains known as Washington’s birthday — many call it Presidents Day.
🏥 Health
Health officials report rising measles cases in Duval, St. John’s and nearby counties and urge residents to check vaccination records; those with symptoms such as high fever or rash should contact their healthcare provider.
The CDC advises two doses of the MMR or MMVR vaccine for lasting protection.
The West Augustine Health and Wellness Center opened on Jan.
23 to offer a full spectrum of health care to area residents in need.
