Good morning, St. Augustine.
🏛️ Government
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said residents must remove bats from attics, barns or sheds by April 15 to comply with state law protecting native bats during the mating season starting April 16.
Officials advise sealing entry points with exclusion devices and cleaning the roost areas once the bats have left (removal during the mating season without a permit is illegal).
🏈 Sports
TPC Sawgrass’s agronomy crew of roughly 185 workers including 85 full-time staff and extra help during tournament week keeps the course pristine for the PLAYERS Championship (fairways, greens and the landscape are maintained to strict standards).
Director Jeff Plotts said teams manage flowers, turf and native areas while working long hours starting around 4:30 a.m.
