Good morning, St. Augustine.
🏘️ Community
K9s United 9K for K9s Race will honor three fallen K9 heroes on April 25 at Ring Power in St. Augustine.
Participants can run a fun run, 5K, 9K or join virtually, then enjoy a post-run celebration with a K9 demonstration + local vendors.
🎭 Culture
The annual St. Johns All-County High School Art Show opens tomorrow during the First Friday ArtWalk at the STAAA showroom on 22 Marine St. The exhibit, celebrating 21 years, displays over 150 high school artworks and is presented in partnership with St. Johns County Schools and sponsored by LeShane CPA.
📰 Economy
Florida’s average gas price jumped nearly 10 cents overnight to $4.219 — keeping the state above the national average, with the increase tied to high oil costs amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
🏥 Health
St. Johns County will host a free Healthcare Career Expo on April 8 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the First Coast Technical College Conference Center (2980 Collins Ave) where representatives from Advent Health, Baptist Health and UF Health will discuss career paths, hiring needs and training opportunities.
Tussock moth caterpillars are returning today in our area, and their spiky hairs (which can cause itchy rashes) are urging residents to avoid contact near oak trees in parks and playgrounds.
