CULTURE NEWS

  • In St. Augustine, a new public news and lifestyle network called Sunny St. Johns is launched by local figures Davey Hartzel and Meredith Masony. The network mounts live productions from The Lab STA — featuring a morning show today and an afternoon series beginning on May 5 — to share local news and community stories.  Totally St. Augustine
  • St. Augustine History Festival will take place May 7-11 and offers more than 40 events at historic sites throughout town — including free tours, lectures and live demonstrations at locations like Castillo de San Marcos and the Colonial Quarter. EDUCATION NEWS

  • A dozen St. Johns County schools are opening controlled enrollment from Monday, April 28 until May 15—parents from the county can join a lottery to add extra seats as some schools, like PVPV/Rawlings Elementary seeking to add over 260 students, participate. PVPV/Rawlings will host an informational session on Wednesday, April 30 at 2:30 p.m. while officials confirm that consolidation of under-capacity schools is not planned.  First Coast News
