- ➤ Romanza Festivale returns May 1-17 in St. Augustine, offering more than 40 free and low cost music and arts events at local venues. The festival will feature music, dance, theater, and comedy performances that bring regional and international talent to the community. The St. Augustine Record
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Crews are battling a 4,400-acre wildfire in Clay and Putnam counties today, with voluntary evacuations still in effect near Varney Road and Woodard Lane (residents are advised to monitor air quality as firefighters work overnight to contain the blaze). First Coast News
- ➤ Lovebug season has begun in Florida, and sightings are down as experts point to habitat loss and weather changes rather than UF involvement (UF did not create lovebugs). Residents are advised to wash off smudged cars quickly to avoid engine issues. The St. Augustine Record

- ➤ Flagler College will join the all Florida Sunshine State Conference in the academic year 2027 to 2028, ending 17 years in the Peach Belt Conference. The move will shorten travel for athletic teams & boost regional sports competition. The St. Augustine Record
