  • After a life-saving liver transplant in 2020, Captain Rob Bellanich restored the Royal Princess in Green Cove Springs with his family + they now offer community river cruises on the St. Johns River as a tribute to the donor’s legacy.  First Coast News
  • On April 24, HCA Florida Memorial Hospital volunteers built 10 raised garden plots at the St. Johns Food Pantry — helping families grow fresh fruits and vegetables. The project was part of the hospital’s volunteer efforts during National Volunteer Month.  The St. Augustine Record

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Beaches Sea Turtle Patrol reported that sea turtle nesting season will start tomorrow (May 1) and urged beachgoers to minimize artificial light and keep sand undisturbed to help nesting mothers and hatchlings. Early nest sightings have occurred in Neptune Beach and Duval County, highlighting the need for quieter nights.  First Coast News
