  • NOAA and the National Weather Service mark day two of Hurricane Preparedness Week on May 5 by sharing five key tips to help residents get ready before hurricane season starts on June 1 — these tips include planning evacuations, gathering supplies, checking insurance, setting up a communication plan, and securing homes.   • Residents in St. Augustine can humanely kill Burmese pythons on private property following guidelines from the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) if they encounter the invasive snake.   • TSA announced that starting May 7, officials will check for REAL ID on driver’s licenses at airport security; travelers without REAL ID may use a valid passport but risk extra screening delays.
