ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A home in Shearwater caught fire twice in 24 hours after a golf cart sparked the first blaze in the garage and the cause of the second fire is under investigation, leaving Michael and Kathy Goodman with little more than saved mementos—fire crews responded immediately and investigators will return on Tuesday. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ NOAA and the National Hurricane Center hosted Hurricane Preparedness Week from May 4—10 to remind residents to check their evacuation zones and assemble disaster supplies ahead of the 2025 hurricane season, which begins on June 1. - ➤ Travis Hunter, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, practiced on offense for nearly 2,000 fans at Jaguars rookie minicamp and began studying the defensive playbook, with head coach Liam Coen saying he will play defense next week—Hunter also celebrated being the first in his family to graduate college.
