GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ St. Augustine city leaders met with the St. Johns County Commission on Wednesday to present a plan to improve the Nights of Lights event and requested $850,000, reduced from a $1.2 million ask. The funding will pay for more shuttles & restrooms downtown and will be reconsidered at the September 2 meeting. First Coast News
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Florida football coach Billy Napier said UF would continue its long-standing rivalry with FSU—an annual contest since 1958—even as the SEC moves to a nine-game schedule starting in 2026, and he explained that the LIU game scheduled for Aug. 30 would help evaluate backup players and shape team depth.
