  • St. Augustine’s monthly event list features a variety of community activities including family storytime today at Vaill Point Park, a cold case symposium, music festivals and cultural celebrations scheduled throughout October—many offering live music, art workshops and interactive displays at local parks and historic sites.  The St. Augustine Record

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Delightful Development, LLC placed the highest bid of $7.1 million for Marineland Dolphin Adventure after the Dolphin Company filed for bankruptcy this spring, double the $3.5 million offered by Hutson Companies. The sale will be approved by the court on October 27 (the buyer's plans for the historic 87-year-old attraction and its dolphins remain unknown).  First Coast News
  • AC Hotel St. Augustine opened today in Lincolnville along the San Sebastian River and offers 142 guest rooms, a fitness center, an outdoor lounge pool, and 1,500 square feet of event space—managed by McKibbon Hospitality and developed by Asante Asset Management. The modern hotel is within walking distance of local dining and historic sites.  The St. Augustine Record
  • Adventure Landing in Jacksonville Beach closed its doors after 30 years due to a brief timeframe given to cease operations, according to owner Hank Woodburn—while the St. Augustine park remains open to honor credits and tokens from the closed location.  First Coast News

  • La Casa Studios, a new podcast and visual arts production space at 33 King Street, will open on Saturday, Oct. 18 from 6 to 8 p.m. The $1 million renovated facility features state-of-the-art equipment and rotating art exhibits — a creative hub for local artists and entrepreneurs.  The St. Augustine Record
