CULTURE NEWS

  • St. Augustine kicks off its annual Nights of Lights today with Light Up! Night, as city officials introduce new parking fees, increased fines, and enhanced shuttle service—aimed at easing traffic and crowding from last year. The event runs until Jan. 11 and adds extra portable restrooms and a new app that tracks shuttles, events, and restroom locations for a smoother holiday season.  First Coast News

FINANCE NEWS

  • The Florida Lottery reported that the Mega Millions jackpot reached $980 million in Friday’s drawing after no one matched all the numbers, and officials said the prize will roll over—potentially becoming the 14th billion-dollar jackpot in history.   • Data from rental marketplace Zumper shows that apartment listing prices in St. Augustine reached a median of $2,250 in October — slightly up from last year's $2,197 but lower than last month's $2,282. The data covering units from studios to four-bedrooms indicates that one-bedroom rents stayed steady while two-bedroom prices fell 5% from last year.  The St. Augustine Record

  • Ponte Vedra won an overtime game against Niceville by blocking an extra point—avenging last year's loss—and Beachside earned its first regional win by defeating Milton.
